Five Skirts To Wear This Summer

By Stephanie Withers,17th April 2014

If there’s one thing we love about summer it’s the opportunity to trade in the jeans for some cute and playful skirts. So in order to get our closets summer ready we’ve picked out five of the hottest skirt styles that are worth trying this season! Check them out below.

Origami Skirts

Inspired by the Japanese art of Origami, these structured and neatly crafted skirts are set to be a big trend this summer. These statement skirts look especially chic in both black and white colours and add an instant touch of style to your outfit.  With their fold over detail and false wrap design, these statement skirts are super flattering and look great paired with a classic t-shirt or blouse.

These ready to wear skirts are also extremely versatile as they’re perfect for wearing both day and night. Simply switch up your accessories and add a smart tailored jacket to dress them up. They can be worn all year round and are fast becoming the latest fashion trend.

Chiffon Pleated Skirts

Always on trend, Sydney from The Daybook looks gorgeous in her pleated chiffon skirt. The key to making this skirt work is to pair it with a contrasting fabric, such as a loose t-shirt or an oversized knit. We love Sydney’s summer look, her casual tee compliments her skirt beautifully and the belt helps add definition. Sydney polished her outfit off with some cute ankle boots, a layered necklace and a bright pink lip colour.

To dress this look up try adding a neutral fitted blazer and swap your boots for some pointed heels. Switch up the pleated belt for a simple thin black one, which will compliment your outfit and help it blend into a dressier setting.

Pencil Skirts

Currently the skirt of the moment, the classy pencil skirt is a fashion must have! It’s been rocked up and down the catwalks and is a favourite amongst celebrities, from Kim Kardashian to Miranda Kerr. This skirt is extremely versatile and looks classy when worn with a blouse or some faux leather. Or why not mix it up by going for a casual/smart look and pair your pencil skirt with a graphic tee (or band t-shirt) a statement necklace and some shoe boot heels.

Fashion Tip: The best way to wear a pencil skirt is with a heel as it helps elongate the legs and lengthen your look. Aim for high waist styles that fall just below the knee for a flattering look that compliments your figure.

Neon Skirts

Skater Skirts

Skater skirts are one of the most flattering summer looks. The fit and flare look highlights all your best features by showing off your waist and legs. For a modern look pair your flared skirt with a denim shirt or a slouchy tee with a statement necklace. Skater skirts can be worn with flats or heels depending on the occasion - For a casual outfit try converses or some sneakers or for a dressier outfit pair it with some stilettos. The skater skirt is an ideal way to pull off the casual and smart look all in one go!

Trend Alert – Overalls

By Stephanie Withers,17th March 2014

You might have thought the overall trend died in the 90’s, however it looks like they’re making a huge comeback for Spring 14. From Selena Gomez to Little Mix singer, Jessy Nelson, celebrities have been jumping on the bandwagon and dressing up their favorite overalls with anything from sandals to the current fashion must have - leopard print sneakers! Want to try this look out for yourself? Check out our tips below on how you can make this trend work for you.

Long Leg Overalls

When wearing an on-trend item, it’s important to pick a pair that work right for your figure. First decide whether you prefer a baggier or slim cut fit, which compliments your body shape. Always bear in mind that when it comes to wearing denim you don’t want to appear swallowed by it, you can avoid this by layering and dressing up your overalls with some other statement pieces. For example to help break up the denim and add another element to your look try wearing a patterned blouse underneath or a lace top to create texture. Finish it off by wearing your overalls cuffed at the ankles with some heels or your favorite flat sandals. A bright lip color and a couple coats of mascara will ensure you appear polished and on trend.

Short Overalls

If you’re still deciding about this trend then opting for a pair of short overalls is a fun way to experiment and try it out. These overalls make a perfect casual daytime outfit and look fab when paired with patterned crop tops, plain tees or even a checkered shirt. If you feel the denim is still too much, then try adding a skinny belt to add more definition or an oversized jeweled necklace.

To keep your look down to earth, dig out your trusty white converses which go with just about everything! We love seeing overalls paired with a messy high ponytail and some retro oval sunglasses. This look would be right at home at a festival or for a day out shopping with friends.

Prints continue to be all the rage and look great in the spring and summer months. If you love the overall trend but are looking for something a little more cute and girly, then a printed denim dress could be the perfect solution for you. These dresses look great when teamed with a blouse or a simple white or black t-shirt. Dress it up with an assortment of bangles, an oversized gold watch and some ankle boots. Alternatively you can work the sneaker trend, such as Converses or a pair by New Balance.

It’s true to say that overalls can be a hit or miss look, but when styled correctly they can make a perfect stylish addition to your closet. Whether it’s through your favorite cross body bag or cat eye sunglasses, the key to making these retro denims work is to add your own touch of flair to them. Lastly don’t be afraid to have fun, try out different ensembles until you find the best look that shows off your personality!

Get Spring Ready

By Stephanie Withers,14th March 2014

Spring is right around the corner and it’s almost time to banish those winter coats and jackets back into the depth of our closets and replace them with floral dresses and pastel blazers. Check out some of our Spring/Summer fashion must haves below to ensure that you’re ready to start the new season in style.

Pastel Blazer

A pastel blazer is a gorgeous way to re-introduce some color back into your closet after the winter months. It makes a perfect transitional piece and can be worn both smart and casually. A fitted blazer not only looks chic, but it’s also hugely flattering. If you fancy dressing your blazer up then why not pair it with a cute blouse, skinny jeans and some pointed heels. A purse or clutch bag will add a lovely finishing touch.

For a casual look take inspiration from the pic above and style your blazer with a statement graphic t-shirt, a pair of boyfriend fit jeans rolled up at the cuffs and some sneakers or heels. For a cute touch why not match your lippie to your blazer? This helps your outfit look put together without trying too hard. After all, that’s the gem about a blazer it can transform any look into one that’s stylish and on trend.

Striped Top

A horizontal striped top should be a staple in every girl’s closet. These tops are not only a classic but are extremely versatile and look great paired with anything from skirts to jeans. Why not pair one under a blazer along with a statement necklace? Alternatively these stripes would look cool styled with some jeans, wedges and a cream cross-body bag. Polish your outfit off with some sunglasses and a long chained necklace. Whatever the ensemble, this striped t-shirt will come to your rescue no matter what the weather.

Patterned Skirt

A patterned skirt is the perfect way to start prepping your closet for Spring and makes for another ideal transition piece as they can be worn bare legged or with tights. Floral is one of the first prints that pop into mind when you start planning for the warmer weather. Make a play on the traditional pink and red hues by opting for a black and grey floral pattern. You can go colorful or neutral on top depending on the day. Finish it off with some heels and a cute fitted blazer (a pastel shade would add a perfect touch of color).

Square patterns have been one of Autumn/Winter’s biggest trends, so why not carry it through to summer and dress your checked skirt with a cute strap top, some sandals or ankle boots and a jeweled necklace. Add a leather jacket to give your look more of an edge! This look works great for both day and evening settings.

Print Skater Dress

A skater dress makes dressing in the spring and summer months so easy. Effortless and always cute, these popular dresses give you a go-to outfit that can be worn anytime of year. Thanks to their flattering style you’ll not only feel comfortable but will look great at the same time. We love pairing these numbers with a leather jacket to add some contrast or with a white blazer. Show off your legs by not wearing tights and finish your look off with some wedges or for a dressed down look, try some on-trend sneakers.

For a bohemian look why not pair your skater dress with an oversized cardigan, some ankle boots and a floppy black hat. Don’t forget your oval sunglasses and accessories; we’re talking plenty of bangles and a long chained necklace. If you’re hitting any music festivals this year then this look will be right up your street!

Unless you’ve been hiding under a rock the last few months then you’ll know that sneakers are the big thing just now. From Nike’s to New Balance, just about every fashion blogger is wearing them. We love how versatile these sneakers are and how they compliment both low key and dressy looks. This spring why not pair yours with a skirt or some white shorts. You can also wear them with your favorite leggings and an oversized blouse for a more classy and distinguished look!

What’s your go-to Spring/Summer item? We’d love to hear in the comments below. To find more spring trends head over to ShopSimple, where there’s no shortage of fashion inspiration and must have pieces. Happy shopping!

Five Ways to Dress Up Jeans

By Stephanie Withers, 11th March 2014

Whether it’s flares, skinnies or the boyfriend fit, jeans are nearly everyone’s go to item. They’re easy to wear, style and look great on all shapes and sizes. However, jeans needn’t be restricted for low-key days. Check out our tips below on how to dress up your favourite denims!

Copy Nicole Richie’s style and make a statement by dressing up some flared jeans with a fitted shirt and a bold blazer. A smart and stylish blazer should be a staple in every girl’s closet as they’re versatile and are perfect for adding some glamour to care free looks. If you’re not feeling as daring as Nicole then a white or pastel coloured blazer will look equally chic and fashionable.

Wearing a floaty and lightweight dress over some skinny jeans is a cute and fun way to add layers to your outfit. This look is easy to create whilst looking unique and stylish. Try it yourself by looking out one of your summer dresses (the more lightweight the better) and pair one with your favourite skinny denims, ankle boots and if it’s chilly a loose cardigan.

If you’re looking for another way to style your skinny jeans this winter then why not try pairing them with some knee high (or if you’re feeling daring some thigh high) boots! This is a perfect city outfit and works well in both day to night scenarios. Polish your outfit off with a blouse or an oversized sweater and some serious bling! We love the mix of soft hues in the outfit above, the statement necklace adds a perfect punch of glam and compliments the rest of the ensemble beautifully.

There’s nothing like mixing smart and casual to create a skillfully textured look. Camel coloured coats compliment faded denim wonderfully and work well with both structured jeans or ones that are a little more worn and rugged (i.e pairs you’ve taken some scissors to!) Finish off this look with some flat or heeled ankle boots and an oversized scarf, you’ll not only be comfortable but will look fabulous too.

Sweaters are no longer items you simply throw on for a lazy day. We love how they have been revamped in recent years and are now spotted on the trendiest of fashion lovers. From prints to asymmetric colours, statement sweaters make a great option when looking for something cozy and stylish to pair with your denims. To keep the look smart finish the rest of your outfit off with a pair of heels and a bright lippie.

When shopping for jeans make sure you look for pairs that suit your body shape. If you’re petite and slim like Nicole Richie then flares that skim the ground or skinny jeans, which graze your ankle, are a good choice. If you’re tall you can pull off most styles, some of the most popular being calf length or boyfriend jeans rolled up at the hems. Don’t be afraid to try on different styles, from washed out effects to dark indigo denims.

If you enjoyed checking out the street style photos from New York’s Fashion Week then you’ll love these latest looks fresh in from London’s Fashion Week, where an array of cutting edge outfits were spotted outside Somerset House. Have a look at some of our favorite looks below…

Who said maxi dresses are only for summer? We love the neutral and elegant colors in this outfit, which works perfectly as both a day and evening look. The leather jacket and neon sunglasses help give a subtle edge of glamour to this fashionable ensemble.

The neon trend isn’t going away anytime soon. We love this statement jumper, paired with a leather skirt, oversized clutch bag and some stiletto heels. The natural hair and makeup compliment this simple outfit perfectly.

Mixing up dressy and casual pieces is always a winner. We love how this LFW attendee paired a low-key sweater with a pretty laced dress, jeweled accessories and some pointed heels. This look has it all!

Whilst they might not be the easiest item to wear, printed pants are guaranteed to make a stylish addition to every girl’s closet. For inspiration why not try out the look above by pairing yours with a cute shirt, cropped jumper and a cross body bag!

Jumpsuits have made a comeback and can look super stylish when styled correctly. We love this LFW look, with the addition of strappy heels, gold jewellery and a silver clutch bag. These accessories not only compliment the outfit, but also help transform this jumpsuit into something that’s dressy and chic.

Let’s take a moment to appreciate how fabulous this casual LFW outfit is. It’s all in the details with this look, from the big hair and the aviator sunglasses to the checked shirt (tied loosely at the waist) and feminine white heels. This stylish lady perfectly showcases how to work the layered look.

Fashion is all about expressing yourself and your personality through your outfits. Never be afraid to mix and match a few colorful garments, such as a bright blue skirt with a green leather jacket. We love bold ensembles like the one above, the incorporation of cute ankle socks and heels help polish the look off beautifully.

Style Crush – Kourtney Kardashian

By Stephanie Withers,5th March 2014

Whether or not you’re a fan of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, there’s no denying that when it comes to fashion Kourtney Kardashian has a great sense of style. Her cute, bohemian and eclectic outfits always make her photo-ready, leaving the rest of us dying to have her killer wardrobe. Want to steal Kourtney’s look? Check out our tips below on how to dress like this petite and beautiful reality star.

Part of the charm to Kourtney’s style is her ability to mix smart and casual pieces, creating an effortless look with a hint of glam. There’s always a touch of bohemian to her ensembles, whether it’s her jacket, bangles or through a hairpiece. The above look is a perfect day-to-day outfit, ideal for running errands in or for meeting friends for a lunch date.

To re-create this low-key look, start with your basics by pairing a loose fitted v-neck t-shirt with some jeans rolled up at the cuffs. You can buy a pair of wrecked jeans or simply take some scissors to a pair of your own to create that ripped effect. Next add a fitted blazer or a jacket; Kourtney’s embroidered stripe and sequin jacket adds a perfect touch of colour and intrigue to her basic look. Make sure you polish it off with a pair of suede heels (that are comfortable enough to walk in) and a structured handbag. Finally, add a touch of nude lipstick and you’re good to go!

Kourtney looks chic and stylish in her high waist shorts and long sleeve cream blouse. To give her look an edgy touch, Kourtney added her favorite Chloe Studded Susanna Ankle Boots. But don’t worry; this look can still be easily achieved without the designer price tag!

This outfit is inexpensive to recreate, with the key piece being the studded ankle boots. Thankfully there are plenty of similar studded boots available to buy online thanks to the high demand for this popular style. They not only suit all shapes and sizes due to their flattering cowboy cut, but also go with plenty of outfits too! To steal Kourtney’s look, keep the rest of your outfit neutral by sticking to cream and white colored tops and bottoms, so that your boots can make a statement and stand out.

We love Kourtney’s chevron printed maxi dress with its buttonholed v-neck and black trimming. Kourtney paired her abstract dress with some gladiator sandals and an oversized handbag. By opting for natural makeup and styling her hair in a loose up-do Kourtney helps keep her look from appearing over the top.

This outfit can be re-created with any long sleeved maxi dress. The more patterned the better, as Kourtney likes to wear bold pieces. Dress it up with some oversized gold bangles and some flat sandals (or studded ankle boots from the picture above). The best thing about this outfit is how quick and easy it is to throw on. You don’t have to spend hours on your hair either (a messy bun can do wonders), simply follow Kourtney’s lead and let your dress do all the talking.

Who’s your favorite Kardashian? Do you love Kourtney’s bohemian and care free style? We love to hear your thoughts and opinions.

How To Wear: The Cross-Body Bag

By Stephanie Withers, 3rd March 2014

Just about all of us own a cross-body bag and thanks to some stylish celebrities they’ve quickly made their way back into fashion. The best thing about cross-body bags is they’re comfortable to wear all day meaning no aches and pains on your shoulders. Not only can they instantly brighten up your attire, they’re also extremely practical as they’re small yet spacious. Keep reading to find out how you can style your new favourite accessory.

Short Over Long

This season it’s all about how you wear your cross-body bag, with the latest trend being to keep the straps short. Follow Alexa Chung’s tips and make sure your bag sits between your waist and the top of your hip as opposed to hanging low at your thigh. This fresh style is quick and easy to achieve and is the perfect way to show off your beautiful bag. You don’t have to buy a new cross-body bag to achieve this look. Simply knot the straps of your bag to make it shorter or tie a section of the strap inside your bag with a hair tie or ribbon to keep it concealed. It will feel like a whole new bag all on its own!

Go Bold

Cross-body bags can easily be used to spice up your outfit. Both Alexa & Miranda opt for brightly coloured bags to draw attention to their looks. If you’re feeling bold like Miranda Kerr then a bright neon bag combined with an on trend print such as leopard can work together to make a stylish statement. It’s also a great way to take on two trends at once without looking like you’re trying too hard.

If your outfit is more neutral and down to earth like Alexa’s, then a bright cross-body bag can add some much needed colour and contrast to your ensemble. In this case it also helps add a touch of femininity to Alexa’s tomboy look. Combined with a short strap and some cat eye sunglasses, you can have the best of both worlds, an outfit that is both fashionable and functional.

The metal-chained strap is infamous thanks to high-end fashion brand, Chanel. There are hundreds of replicas available of its Iconic 2.55 online and on the high street. We love Hart of Dixie star, Rachel Bilson’s cute cross-body bag with its bright gold chain. This bag adds some texture to her girly summer look and stands out perfectly against the tone of her charcoal crew neck jumper. Like Rachel, keep the low-key theme going by finishing your outfit off with some ballet pumps and light minimal makeup.

Are you ready to get your cross-body bag out again? Don’t be afraid to try out a few different styles, not that you’ll have trouble finding one that suits you. The final beauty of the cross-body bag is it goes with everything, from dresses to an old pair of jeans.

New York Fashion Week Street Style

By Stephanie Withers, 28th January 2014

Fashion week isn’t only about the latest catwalk trends and you’ll often find just as much inspiration out on the streets as you will at the shows. For some fresh outfit inspiration check out some of our favourite street style looks from New York Fashion Week below!

The Pink Coat

Pink coats are one of the biggest style trends to pop up this Winter 13/14. Not only do they brighten up cold winter days, they also add a touch of prettiness and fun to monotone outfits. You can wear them with anything from jeans to skirts and dress them up or down depending on the occasion. For an on trend day look wear one with a printed jumpsuit and some white platform sneakers. Exaggerated makeup (especially long voluminous lashes) will make sure you turn heads for all the right reasons!

Cross Body Bags

Fashion blogger, Rumi Neely, was spotted with an oversized shearing jacket to combat the cold, along with some cowboy style ankle boots and a pair of cat eye sunglasses. We love her mix of pieces and the overall bohemian vibe of her look. To stay on trend Rumi added a mid length cross body Louis Vuitton bag. We heard she also paid a visit to Bumble & Bumble Hair Salon between shows to freshen up her signature ombre locks.

Sequin Jumpers

Add a little sparkle to your day-to-day outfits with a cute sequin jumper. We love this oh-so-fashionable look above with the flirty umbrella skirt and metallic bag. When wearing a bold and playful outfit during the day it’s important to keep the rest of your look fresh and simple - for example this stunning NYFW attendee styled her hair with a messy ponytail accompanied by beautiful natural makeup – this ensured her look stayed classy and not OTT.

Neon Accessories

Fashion Blogger, Jules Sarinana, from Simply Jules looked cool and chic in her leopard print coat, leather pants and neon accessories. Adding a touch of neon to your outfit is a great way to lift the winter blues and add some colour to a simple look. Follow Jules’s lead and opt for a slouchy beanie and oversized boho bag.  We love how the pointed stilettos add an extra touch of glam to this fashionable cosmopolitan ensemble.

Pastel Jackets

Pastel jackets can be the perfect pick me up to an all black outfit. We love how this stylish street goer has paired her pastel leather jacket with some skinny jeans, platform heels and a bohemian hat. This look works perfectly for both day to night style. If you prefer the androgynous look then keep your hair and makeup neutral, or to add a touch of femininity then wear your hair loose and wavy with a touch of pink lippie.

Fashion week helps illustrate how you can make the trends work for you on a day-to-day basis. It’s not about following the book, but rather having fun and trying new looks, mixing trends and picking out a statement item that is unique and wonderful - such as leopard print coats and bright accessories! What’s your favourite NYFW look? Let us know in the comments below.

Ten Things Every Fashionista Should Own

By Stephanie Withers, 25th January 2014

When it comes to closet staples there are a few items that every girl should own. From a black blazer to a cute iPhone case, you’ll not want to be without these stylish offerings. Check out our top ten fashion items that will help keep you fashionable all year long.

Black Blazer

A black blazer is the perfect outer layer to add to your outfits. It can be dressed up or down depending on the occasion and is great for layering. For a summer look wear your blazer over a floral dress and some ankle boots, or for the winter months follow Miranda Kerr’s style and pair your blazer with some leggings and an oversized scarf. This versatile number is great for days when you fancy adding a touch of sophistication to your look.

Pastel Purse

A pastel purse makes a great accessory all year round. It helps lift your spirits on dark winter days and compliments summer outfits beautifully. Another benefit to these soft hued purses is they’re easy to find in your handbag meaning you’ll not waste time sifting through keys, receipts and makeup to reach it. They also add an additional touch of fun and femininity to your day-to-day ensembles.

Printed Scarf

From work wear to everyday outfits a printed scarf can help dress up your whole look. Hollywood actress, Jennifer Aniston is rarely seen without her signature-oversized scarf. To steal Aniston’s look, tie a scarf or pashmina in a loose knot around the neck and pair it with a plain black t-shirt and a soft leather jacket. Seek out some skinny jeans and you’ll have a perfect look that works beautifully both day and night.

Oversized sunglasses are a girl’s best friend. If you’re feeling worse for wear then a pair of sunnies make a perfect camouflage to hide those dark circles. Sunglasses can be worn all year round with black being the most versatile of shades. A pair of cat eye sunglasses can transform an ordinary outfit into one that’s chic and sexy. Just don’t forget to take them off indoors, as you don’t want to look like you’re hiding from the paparazzi.

Skinny Jeans

Every girl needs a pair of dark skinny jeans as they’re one item you can wear all year round. Dark indigo denim suits a range of tops, from blouses to loose t-shirts & blazers. You can style skinny jeans with ballet pumps or boots depending on the season. Simply make sure you buy a pair that fits comfortably at the waist and is the correct length, you want them fitted as opposed to bunching at the knee. One way to help get a good fit is to turn up the hemline so that they sit comfortably at your ankle.

Oversized Necklace

An oversized necklace is a quick and easy way to spice up an outfit. Whether your look is simple and understated or fun and eccentric, an oversized necklace will lend itself well and compliment most looks. Oversized necklaces vary in price, however you’ll often find one that suits your budget. Make sure you choose a necklace that’s comfortable and not too heavy so that you can get plenty of wear from it.

Slouchy Top

Due to its practicality a comfortable loose fitted top is a closet must have. You can dress it up or down and layer it to suit your outfit. Paired with an oversized necklace and skinny jeans your top will jump from basic to stylish. Alternatively, pair your top with a beautiful printed scarf and a bright lip colour. These looks are easily achievable and best of all they suit all budgets.

Ankle Boots

Ankle boots are the easiest boot style to wear as they suit jeans, dresses, shorts and skirts. They’re versatile and comfortable making them a super practical addition to your closet. Stick to neutral colours such as black, tan and grey. These colours work best with everyday looks and won’t clash with the rest of your outfit.

Floppy Hat

A floppy hat will come to the rescue for those notorious bad hair days, whilst adding a fun touch of bohemian style to your outfit. Hats compliment most ensembles and work best when paired with loose fitted items, such as dresses and slouchy tops. Floppy hats make a perfect and stylish solution for any girl wanting to add an effortless and quirky touch to her look.

Cute Phone Case

A cute phone case has become more than a protective sleeve to keep your phone safe, thanks to Serena from Gossip Girl it’s now used to make a fashion statement. Fun phone cases help show off your personality and help brighten up plain outfits. For a cute twist paint your nails to match!

Five Ways To Add Colour To Your Wardrobe

By Stephanie Withers, 19th February 2014

There’s something about the winter months that draws out the dark and grey clothes in our closets. With the bleak weather, winter can often feel all too long and leave you wishing for your summer closet and the smell of sun cream. However, you don’t have to wait for spring to start bringing some colour back into your outfits. Here are five inexpensive ways you can brighten up your winter closet.

Bold Shoes

A pair of colorful heels can be the perfect way to brighten up your outfit. Not only do they add some drama, but they also refresh your whole look transforming it into one that’s fashionable and original. Bright colours stand out when paired with plain items, so opt for a simple outfit that allows your heels to do all the talking. Your shoes needn’t be restricted to heels either, simply find a pair that have a bright colour such as a bold pair of sneakers (wedge sneakers are still on trend) styled with your favourite pair of skinny jeans.

Bright Coat

A bright coat is another way to add some much-needed colour to your winter ensembles. Everyone has a trusty black or dark blue coat, at the ready, but why not try something different this winter and opt for one that lifts your spirits? Pink coats are not only feminine, but they also match perfectly with a range of colours, from denims, greys to prints and whites. Finish your look off with some cosy ankle boots, light pink lippy and nude painted nails, for a classic look that stands out from the crowd.

Colourful Accessories

Accessories are a great way to transform any outfit and also a useful option for those wanting to bring some colour into their look. A cosy beanie is a winter essential, so why not try one in an eclectic shade? Perfect for those wanting a stylish, yet hassle free look. For those with a more reserved style, try a hat with pastel tones and a coordinating lippy in the same colour family. Alternatively, a coloured bag or clutch can be an ideal energizing agent for your neutral clothes or to contrast against another printed item, such as a leopard print coat.

Bright Lipsticks

Whether you’re a fan of pastel shades or the classic red, a pretty lipstick can cheer up your entire winter outfit. This is particularly effective for adding colour to work wear or when you’re strapped for time in the morning. A tip, find a lipstick that has a moisturizing element to it. Winter is notoriously bad for making your skin and lips dry and cracked, so a moisturizing lipstick will help keep your lips smooth and hydrated, helping you look fresh and healthy.

Bright Nails

Second to lipstick, painting your nails a fun colour is another easy way to brighten up your look. Mint and turquoise hues are beautiful and attention grabbing, yet not too busy meaning they’ll go with plenty of items. They contrast perfectly against neutral tones, making them an ideal winter colour. Why not treat yourself to a manicure whilst you’re at it to ensure your nails stay protected from the harsh winter conditions and helping them to get summer ready!
